On our first visits, Saarbrücken presented itself as an incredibly friendly, flexible city at the center of Europe. Once we have lived and worked here for a little bit longer, I will improve my advertisement speech =).

Central in Europe

We believe that future success depends on cross-border collaboration. Our location is a key advantage; we sit at the intersection of Germany, France, and Luxembourg. For example, Luxembourg is 40 mins away. Paris is just a two-hour train ride.

A Collaborative, Compact Campus

The university’s campus is compact, which allows and necessitates collaboration across a wide variety of disciplines, which aligns with our future goals. Key research centers are just a short walk away, including:

• Zema, the Center for Mechatronics and Automation Technology.
• Saarland Informatics Campus (SIC), home to a variety of research efforts on Data Science, Computer Security, and Machine Learning.
• Quantum Technology Center (QuTe) is currently being planned after receiving the initial funding decisions.
